IN LOVING MEMORY OF...

Margaret Guth Schill Esplen

Margaret Esplen, 81, of Marble, died Friday, June 17, 2005, surrounded by members of her  family at UPMC Northwest following a sudden illness.

Born Nov. 26, 1923, in Fryburg,  she was the daughter of Genevieve Fletcher and John "Jack" Guth.

Mrs. Esplen worked for the U.S. Postal Service for over thirty years and served as the postmaster in Marble  where the post office was located in her home.

She was a lifelong member of St. Michael Church in Fryburg, and was an active member for many years of the Rosary Society and the National Association of Postmasters of the United States  of America (NAPUS).

In her retirement, Mrs. Esplen enjoyed crocheting, knitting and her favorite pastime, working in her flower garden. She also enjoyed her large family.

She was married Oct. 3, 1939,  to Bernard F. Schill who preceded her in death in Oct., 1974. She married Gerard R. Esplen in 1986, who preceded her in death in Sept., 2003.

Mrs. Esplen is survived by her seven children, Janet and Charles Eisenman of Fryburg, Mary Ann Farrell-Lavery and Jack Lavery of Cooksburg, Jerry and Pam Schill of New Bern, N.C., Bernie Schill of  Atlanta, Ga., Pam and Bob Markle of Williamsport, Brian and Linda Schill of Pittsburgh and Paulette Schill of Stamford, Conn.

She is also survived by two sisters, Eileen  Schill and her husband Stan of Lucinda and Cass Karg and her husband Jim of Tionesta; two stepchildren; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by three grandsons, Chuck and Randy Eisenman and Jeff Farrell; and two sisters, Sis Heffner and Helen Lenhart.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated  at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael Church in Fryburg with the Rev. David Poulson, pastor and the Rev. Paul A. Schill of St. Michael Church, Greenville, presiding.

Interment will immediately follow in the St. Michael cemetery.

The family requests  donations to be made to The Joshua Christian Family Center.
